Tournament Application

The 2024 Tournament Application is NOW Open

Deadline for 2024 acceptance of applications is October 16, 2023.

Our eight team tournament includes:

  • Five games guaranteed. All games are three (20 minute stop time) periods.
  • Private dressing room for each team for the duration of the tournament.
  • A, B, C and D event trophies for winners and runners-up.
  • Complimentary banquet Saturday evening for all carded players and carded team officials.
  • Hosts provided for all teams.
  • Saturday evening “adult” fun auction and dance with live music. The Tournament Committee asks that all parents participate. Ticket information will be available from the registration co-ordinator.
  • Complimentary souvenirs for all players and coaches.
  • Hosted hospitality room at the hotel Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings.
  • Accommodation arrangements for your team and parents will be made at the beautiful Best Western Premier Vernon, where the banquet and dance will be held and where the Hospitality Room and Tournament Headquarters will be located.
  • The hotel located near the hockey arena and is within easy walking distance to local restaurants, shopping centre’s and grocery stores.

Sample Team Write-up

The Vernon Peewee Tier 1 Mustangs play in the Greater Vernon Minor Hockey Association. They are affiliated in the OMAHA Tier 1 Division along with Kelowna, Kamloops and Prince George. The GVMHA Is one of the smallest Tier 1 Associations in British Columbia by registration numbers.

The team is made up of 13 players born in 2002, seven of which are returning from last season and 5 players born in 2003.

The Mustangs play a good team game, with a focus on passing and puck possession. Our goal is to develop a drive to compete and skills for creativity.

Although we are from a small Association, we always give our opponents a run for their money. We have been successful in winning games against two of the three opponents in our division and have our sights set on league playoffs.

Head Coach Dean McAmmond played 17 years in the NHL with 9 different teams. He ended his career having played 996 regular season games.
